Whispering Cedars, NE
In 1970 representatives of the Nebraska Association of Regular Baptist Churches began search with prayer for a site on which to launch a new camping ministry in the state. After an extensive search, these pastors and laymen who comprised the Council of Six located land along Highway 22 between the towns of Genoa and Fullerton. Arrangements were made to buy it, and the final signatures were placed on the purchase agreement in October of 1971.
WHISPERING CEDARS BAPTIST CAMP has been growing ever since. Tents were used the first year, but now the campground has a full-sized chapel, 11 cabins for campers, a basketball/volleyball court, ball fields, sand volleyball court, staff cabins, a director’s house, two maintenance shops, and hiking trails through the woods. The camp has the capacity for 146 campers.
Affiliation: Whispering Cedars Baptist Camp is a ministry of the NARBC, a group of 16 independent, fundamental Baptist churches in voluntary fellowship with the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches.
